Jarrod Bowen set for more West Ham frustration in remarkable new reveal ahead of Fulham

Jarrod Bowen won’t be happy with how West Ham are performing in the Premier League.

This has been an incredibly poor campaign for the London Stadium outfit, but Bowen has been phenomenal at times, and it’s safe to say that they would have no hope of staying in the top flight without their captain.

Despite registering 12 goal contributions, Bowen has cut a forlorn figure at times, and it’s clear that if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were to drop down to the Championship, then his spell in E20 would be over.

He is clearly one of the most influential attackers in England, as the Sofascore graphic below shows that Bowen performed well against Liverpool on Saturday.

However, he may not fare as well when the Hammers face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Jarrod Bowen has a terrible record at Craven Cottage

The Hammers haven’t won at Craven Cottage since April 2023, and they’ll desperately need their talisman to deliver an inspired performance.

Bowen has scored five of West Ham’s last nine London derby goals in the Premier League this campaign.

However, he has never found the net in four appearances at Craven Cottage in the division, only playing more times at the Etihad Stadium and Goodison Park without a goal (both five).

According to Sofascore, the 29-year-old has registered a pass accuracy of 74.7 per cent and created 26 chances in the top flight this season, so there is a high chance that he’ll be busy on the right wing.

However, given their current position in the table, the England international has been frustrated and disappointed with his team’s efforts throughout the campaign.

The fact that he hasn’t scored at Craven Cottage doesn’t bode well, especially ahead of Wednesday’s must-win match.

Not only could he be in for another miserable trip to SW6, but failing to win against Fulham when Man City and Aston Villa are West Ham’s next two games would be a huge blow for the Hammers and their captain.

Fulham’s defensive set-up will make it incredibly hard for Bowen

Bowen has completed 40 successful dribbles in the top flight this season, which is 95 per cent higher than all other right wingers in the division.

However, Fulham’s compact block out of possession and their narrow pitch make it hard for wide players to experience much joy.

The reverse fixture in December saw the Cottagers win 1-0 thanks to a late Raul Jimenez goal, and it was clear that the Hammers couldn’t break them down.

Bowen has only won 45.3 per cent of his ground duels, so he’ll have to fight a lot harder against Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon.

Although he has exceeded expectations time and time again over the last five years, the signs don’t look promising for his personal performance at Craven Cottage.

And that would certainly be incredibly damaging to West Ham’s survival hopes.
