Axel Disasi epitomises new found West Ham mentality that has sparked Premier League revival
Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken out on the mentality at West Ham, and the first instinct was to think about Axel Disasi.
The Hammers are looking to cement their status as a Premier League club this season, and their recent win against Fulham brought them level with Nottingham Forest.
That victory followed a match where the Irons conceded five goals at Anfield, and if heads were to drop, it would not have been much of a surprise.
Next up is the FA Cup for the E20 outfit, but Nuno has been speaking about what is needed to stay in the Premier League.

What has Nuno said about West Ham’s mentality?
Nuno has shared the important trait he believes his West Ham players will need to stave off relegation this season.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Brentford in the FA Cup, Nuno pointed out West Ham’s solid mentality despite defeats.
The West Ham manager stated: “I think being able to react well every time is not possible, but to bounce back from poor performances is always important, especially in the fight we are involved in.
“We saw against Fulham that the players reacted pretty well after Liverpool, after which we had a good performance and good results, so I hope it continues.”
In that sense, new arrival Disasi has embodied that mentality since making the switch to East London.
How Axel Disasi embodies what Nuno has said about West Ham
Disasi has been a monstrous signing for West Ham since joining at the end of the winter transfer window, with the differences in the Hammers’ defending clear.
However, against Liverpool, there was a chance for his performances to drop after. At Anfield, Disasi, alongside his Irons teammates conceded five goals, with the Frenchman scoring into his own net.
The new arrival could have let his head drop, but he followed that disappointing day up with another stellar game in the claret and blue.
Against Fulham, the 27-year-old was dominant in the air, winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels. Additionally, he made three interceptions, a feat only bettered by Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Craven Cottage.

Disasi also won 100 per cent of his tackles as he guided his side to yet another clean sheet, marking his third since the move to London Stadium.
On the ball, he was calm and composed too, not letting his head drop after the weekend’s mishaps. He ended the match with 89 per cent passing accuracy and a 7.1 Sofascore rating.
Only Crysencio Summerville and Mads Hermansen were rated higher.
Overall, the Frenchman does not let his bad games affect him, and that is an essential asset in the relegation fight, as Nuno said.
