West Ham United set to complete loan-to-buy deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja

West Ham United are set to complete a loan-to-buy deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja according to the Daily Mail.

The Guardian reported on Friday (15 July) that the Irons had tabled a bid of £25million for the 20-year-old Albanian striker.

However, it has been suggested by The Daily Mail on Sunday 17 July that the Hammers are set to agree on a loan deal for the striker, with Chelsea reluctant to sell the striker this summer.

It is also believed that a move for Broja will not impact the club’s pursuit of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

Statement of intent

This is a massive statement of intent from the club hierarchy and will undoubtedly raise excitement around the London Stadium heading into the 2022/23 season.

Broja has Premier League experience and will be an ideal fit for David Moyes’ style of play.

Furthermore, a loan move will take some strain off of the West Ham boss’ wage budget and allow him to pursue other deals as the window progresses.

If the Hammers can add Scamacca and Broja to their attack then they will have a potent strike force, which is not something that cannot be said very often at the London Stadium.

With Michail Antonio as well, Moyes will have three good options to choose from and will also be able to adapt formations to potentially play with two strikers at times in the season.

The Hammers’ transfer activity in recent weeks has been exactly what everyone involved with the club wants to see.

Barring any last-minute issues, Moyes could be adding some quality additions in the coming days.
