West Ham United: Paul Brown makes ‘light a fire’ prediction on exit-linked Maxwel Cornet

There is “every chance” that Maxwel Cornet can become a regular at West Ham United, according to Paul Brown.

The journalist has predicted the winger to come good amid expected final third rotation from Hammers manager David Moyes, and due to their “thin” squad.

The club were willing to listen to offers for the attacker in the January transfer window amid interest from Crystal Palace, but he has remained at the London Stadium.

“He is going to get chances now because their squad is quite thin,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT. “There will have to be some rotation in forward areas and, if he can find some form, he has got every chance of forcing his way in there on a more regular basis.

“When all of that is taken together, I think it should light a fire under Maxwel Cornet and hopefully bring the best out of him.”

Cornet to shine for West Ham?

West Ham have been very busy this season, with the East London club currently competing in the Premier League and the Europa League, having exited both the League Cup and FA Cup.

But despite the busy schedule, manager David Moyes has been reluctant to give Cornet much of a look-in. The winger has made just 12 appearances in all competitions this season, with his lack of minutes leading to exit speculation in the recent transfer window.

A move failed to come about, and Cornet has since been handed minutes by his manager, but it remains to be seen what the man in the dugout has planned for the attacker.

With Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals having left the London Stadium in the transfer window, Cornet will be licking his lips.

But he may be sent crashing back down to earth when the likes of Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio return from injury.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now owed an apology after an “incomprehensible” transfer window development.
