West Ham United may sell Maxwel Cornet amid Everton transfer update
West Ham ace Maxwel Cornet could be allowed to leave the London Stadium before the transfer deadline on Friday (1 Septembr), according to the Evening Standard.
As reported by the news publication in their online edition (31 August), Premier League rivals Everton are interested in a late move for the 26-year-old, who can play both as a winger and a full-back.
However, the Ivory Coast international player – who moved to the London Stadium from Burnley in a deal Sky Sports reported was worth £17.5million in August 2022 – would only be allowed to leave the Hammers if they bring in Filip Kostic or another midfielder to replace him.

David Moyes’ side have renewed their interest in Kostic, and are considering both a permanent or loan move for the 30-year-old, who is valued at £25m by Juventus.
Time to go
Things haven’t gone as smoothly for Cornet since his switch from Burnely as he or his supporters would have liked. He joined the East London club last summer but only managed to make 22 appearances in all competitions during his debut season, which totalled just 666 minutes. Throughout those limited minutes, he did manage five assists, but more was certainly expected.
It is clear that he is just not the right fit and early indications this season suggest he should not be prepared to get much more game time than he did last season. So far he has only made one appearance in the league, coming on as a substitute for one minute against Bournemouth on the opening Saturday of the season. David Moyes is clearly not a fan.

A move for the player could be exactly what he needs to revitalise his career and get himself going again, and Goodison Park might be the perfect place for him to do that.
In other West Ham news, a Hammers target has expressed that he is open to joining the club.
