ExWHUemployee: Lucas Paqueta and Daichi Kamada mentioned by West Ham United

West Ham United have bids in for a number of players and have mentioned Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta and Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable West Ham source has suggested on Thursday (4 August, via his Patreon) that the Hammers are confident of adding at least a couple more additions before the window shuts.

Brazil international Paqueta, 27, along with 25-year-old Japanese star Kamada are seen as ambitious targets for the East London club.

Are they priorities?

At the moment, Moyes has three clear problem areas of his squad that need to be addressed before the season gets underway against Manchester City on Sunday (7 August).

Firstly another defensive-minded box-to-box midfielder had to be near the top of the West Ham boss’ to-do list.

The club have certainly been dealt a blow in that department, with Lille midfielder Amadou Onana being offered a more lucrative deal by Premier League rivals Everton, according to The Daily Mail (4 August).

A left-back to provide competition to Aaron Cresswell and another centre-back to cover Nayef Aguerd’s injury will also be at the top of the Hammers’ list heading into the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Paqueta and Kamada don’t occupy positions that are at the top of West Ham’s needs right now and to bring either player to the London Stadium would certainly be a long shot at present.

Another attacking option would be nice for Moyes to fine-tune his squad, but it is certainly not a priority.
