WHZ Moment of the Match: West Ham let off the hook by Ademola Lookman v Fulham

West Ham United returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday evening against rivals Fulham.

David Moyes decided to stick with the same team that lost at Liverpool, and that meant that new signing Said Benrahma has to wait for his first start.

Benrahma did come off the bench, and played a massive role in the winner, setting the ball on a plate for Tomas Soucek to smash home in the last minutes.

The drama hadn’t stopped there though.

Seven minutes into injury time, and Benrahma was at the heart of the drama again, bringing down Thomas Cairney to concede a penalty.

West Ham Zone have selected this as our ‘Moment of the Match‘ as what happened next was simply laughable.

In one kick of the ball, the Irons were going to get one or three points – step forward Ademola Lookman.

The Fulham loanee decided to panenka the ball rather than power it home, and Lukasz Fabianski thankfully didn’t commit and caught the ball.

We couldn’t believe our eyes when Lookman went to chip the ball, and it was nothing more than the Hammer deserved for their performance.

The Irons hit the bar either side of half-time, and the longer the game went on, the more it looked like they would end up frustrated.

Soucek finally found the back of the net, and West Ham have come out of the other end of a difficult start to the season superbly.
