West Ham will be fuming as Premier League make announcement ahead of Brentford clash
West Ham return to action on Monday as they host Brentford at the London Stadium.
The international break is now starting to come to an end, with multiple players having an indifferent time with their countries.
Tomas Soucek has been awful for the Czech Republic and has been rightly criticised by their national media.
In comparison, Callum Marshall has followed up his West Ham debut with more caps for Northern Ireland.
Now, with Nuno Espirito Santo set to take charge of his first game at the London Stadium as Hammers boss, the hosts have already been dealt a potential blow.

Andy Madley appointed referee for West Ham vs Brentford
West Ham’s match against Brentford is already an important early clash this season.
With both sides struggling so far this campaign, the Hammers could actually go level on points with the Bees if they win.
However, Brentford are slight favourites at the London Stadium, and now, West Ham’s chances of a victory just took another hit.
The Premier League announced on 13 October that Andy Madley had been appointed as the referee for the fixture.
- Nuno is set to manage his first match at the London Stadium on Monday as West Ham manager
- The former Nottingham Forest boss has not won a game yet at the Hammers
- However, he has a golden chance to end this against Brentford
However, the official is not well-liked among the West Ham faithful, with Madley being at the centre of a highly controversial decision in 2022.
Against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Maxwel Cornet thought he had equalised for the visitors to make it 2-2. However, VAR quickly intervened, and Madley was advised to go to the pitch-side monitor before he ruled out the goal for a foul on Edouard Mendy.
The decision to disallow Cornet’s goal against Chelsea was widely condemned.
On top of this, the Hammers have an awful record with Madley in charge, winning just three out of 11 matches.
As a result, West Ham will be far from pleased that the referee is in charge on Monday.
Their chances of picking up another victory look set to plummet further, especially when Madley could make another controversial decision that impacts the outcome of the match.
West Ham’s head-to-head record against Brentford
Recently, West Ham have a terrible record against Brentford.
In their last 13 meetings, they have only picked up three victories, with the Bees winning eight.
This includes West Ham’s 1-0 defeat to Brentford last season, early into Graham Potter’s reign.
Therefore, Nuno will be looking to end this curse when the two sides meet on Monday.
