
West Ham United wonder Ollie Scarles can follow Declan Rice blueprint after display v FCSB
West Ham United fans were treated to a terrific Ollie Scarles debut on Thursday evening, it’s crazy to think he’s just 16 years old.
Scarles shined bright on Thursday evening against FCSB as the Hammers made it six wins out of six in their UEFA Conference League group matchup.
Three goals on the night were enough to send the Hammers emphatically through to the next stage but it was Scarles who stole the show.
Scarles was released by Chelsea at the under-12s level in a Declan Rice-esque story, hopefully, he can now go on to reach the heights of the Hammers captain.
West Ham United were informed of this and quickly pounced at the opportunity to sign Scarles, who actually left them to join Chelsea when he was 8 years old.

Remember the name.
Scarles certainly put his name into the hat of youngsters David Moyes may turn to this season after his fantastic performance against FCSB.
The youngster didn’t shy away from his big moment to impress and looked at ease in the West Ham midfield.
He had touches galore throughout the game, winning the ball back for his team on countless occasions, a trait that is valued highly in the modern game.
He also created two big chances on the night, one, a perfectly timed cross for fellow debuted Divin Mubama who narrowly missed his effort.
It was maybe the 16-year-old’s long passing range that was his most attractive trait on the evening, he delightfully placed passes to his teammates like he’d been playing the professional game for countless years.
Scarles can follow the blueprint left by Rice at West Ham and nudge his way into first-team contention, at least to be part of matchday squads.
Thursday evening’s performance proved he can get to that level, now he just needs Moyes to give him more shots.
