West Ham United winger Said Benrahma outshines others in key department

West Ham United winger Said Benrahma has been creating a high number of chances, and David Moyes should be very happy with that.

The 27-year-old has managed only five league starts this season, but has created 14 chances, with 2.12 chances per 90 minutes, as per The Other 14.

Summer signing Gianluca Scamacca has created 12 chances, with 1.74 chances per minute, but he has played more minutes than the Algerian winger.

Declan Rice has created 17 chances, but he has been everpresent for the team.

Clearly, Benrahama has been outperforming others when given the opportunity.

Benrahma impressed against Liverpool in the cameo role and was also brilliant against Southampton away from home after coming from the bench.

Moyes gave him a start against Bournemouth where he got a goal to his name.

West Ham

The Hammers boss made a very interesting point about Benrahma after that game. Moyes suggested that Benrahma clearly has the talent, but he needs to deliver consistently.

“Let’s be fair and honest, Saïd has not shown us enough of what he can do, but tonight he did, and I’m really pleased,” said Moyes to West Ham’s official website on 25 October.

This is the biggest challenge for Benrahma.

There are times when he looks unstoppable. He has got great energy and fantastic dribbling skills. He can be a matchwinner for West Ham on his day.

However, in most cases, he is so frustrating to watch. If he can maintain a certain level of consistency, and come up with strong numbers – be it goals and assists – he can be a real asset for the club.
