West Ham United to seal exciting Marmoush transfer as Liverpool update emerges

Julen Lopetegui will be desperate to bring a new striker to West Ham once the January transfer window opens.

Tim Steidten’s summer addition of Niclas Fullkrug has massively backfired, spending more time on the treatment table than he has on the pitch.

Danny Ings has rarely had a look-in despite staying at the London Stadium to fight for his spot, with Michail Antonio being trusted to lead the line by Lopetegui.

While the 34-year-old proved his credentials in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday 25 November, he has struggled to hit the back of the net so far this season.

With the Hammers currently battling away at the wrong end of the Premier League table, the situation is no good for the under-pressure head coach. There is only so much Jarrod Bowen can be depended on.

West Ham United to beat Liverpool to Omar Marmoush signing?

The London side have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush [GiveMeSport], and fans are hugely excited about the prospect of signing him, having scored 11 goals in 11 Bundesliga games so far.

Unsurprisingly, a transfer battle has emerged for the Egyptian international’s signature, and the Hammers will feel that one potential opponent has distanced themselves from the striker.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool sources have revealed that the Reds have made zero contact with the German side over a potential transfer for the goal-hungry striker.

The Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung has also denied rumours of any discussions.

Liverpool would be one of the biggest rivals to the Hammers this January, and with this news now, Steidten must fix the problem created by signing Fullkrug and replace him almost immediately.

Even after the win against Newcastle, Lopetegui’s side are just six points above the dreaded dropzone and are in dire need of a free-scoring striker to boost them up the Premier League table.

In other West Ham news, an “important” player is surely on the verge of leaving East London after a new transfer update emerges.
