West Ham United to be on red alert as PSG make new Carlos Soler decision amid exit links

West Ham United have been incredibly busy ahead of the August transfer deadline, but the Irons’ business may not be done yet.

So far, Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten have added eight new players to their ranks ahead of the new Premier League season, with their options bolstered all over the playing field.

However, the Irons remain in the market for another midfielder before the window slams shut, with various names tipped to join Guido Rodriguez in the Hammers’ new-look midfield.

One player known to be of interest to West Ham is PSG midfielder Carlos Soler, with reports suggesting the Irons are interested in bringing the Spanish international to the Premier League [Dharmesh Sheth, 15 August].

The Parisian club are understood to be willing to sell the 27-year-old in the coming weeks and there is a belief within the London Stadium that a fee below £20million could be enough to seal the deal [TEAMtalk, 15 August].

Soler wants to play in the Premier League and is therefore open to making the move to East London in the next two weeks and Steidten may now be on red alert after a new update out of France.

Will Carlos Soler exit PSG amid West Ham United transfer rumours?

Ligue 1 got underway on Friday (16 August) night and PSG began their season with a commanding 4-1 win over Le Havre as goals from Kang-In Lee, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Randal Kolo Muani secured all three points.

Soler was left out of the French club’s starting XI and even as they took control with a string of late goals, the Spanish international was left unused on the substitutes bench.

While there could be a multitude of reasons the midfielder wasn’t introduced, it seems as though he isn’t in Luis Enrique’s plans which could be music to the ears of West Ham.

There is still a lot of work to be done before any deal can be struck and it isn’t yet clear if the Hammers have even made an offer for Soler, but his snub last week can only be a boost.

Hopefully, Steidten and his recruitment team can get this deal over the line before the window slams shut at the end of August.
