West Ham United should not waiver from Bamba Dieng chase despite new suitors
West Ham United may have already signed one striker this summer but that doesn’t mean that they can’t go and get another if the chance is there.
And would you know it, there just so happens to be another goalscorer who is on the Irons’ radar in Marseille hotshot Bamba Dieng.
The 22-year-old recently won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal – where he is touted as the ‘new Sadio Mane’ – and enjoyed his best season to date in 2021-22 with seven goals from across the front line.

90min now report that West Ham are among several Premier League side who want to sign the Senegalese international with Leeds United, Newcastle United, Everton, Wolves and Crystal Palace.
There is also interest from Germany and Spain but Dieng may become available to sign very soon as he has been frozen out of Marseille’s pre-season for the most part.
He has played very few minutes so far which means he is unlikely to feature in Ligue 1 all that often despite his impressive campaign last year.
It was also his first season as a regular in France having joined Marseille in 2019 from the Diambars Academy in his homeland.

West Ham could do with another option through the middle but as well as that, a player who can do multiple things (like playing out wide as well) to help out in areas where depth could be considered as thin.
Only Jarrod Bowen could currently be seen as an out-and-out winger among the current crop of players with Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals often asked to play off the left despite being natural number 10s.
Dieng might not be a natural himself in that department but his speed is a much different proposition to deal with than the trickery of the aforementioned duo.
