West Ham United predicted XI v Freiburg – Nayef Aguerd to be axed in two changes
Maxwel Cornet remains West Ham’s only significant absentee ahead of their Europa League clash against Freiburg (7 March).
The former Burnley winger is still nursing a thigh injury and isn’t expected back until the end of this month.
David Moyes’ men get a break from Premier League action after beating Everton at the weekend on Thursday as they get ready for some Round of 16 football in the Europa League.
Łukasz Fabiański is expected to come into the starting XI in place of Alphonse Areola. The Poland international has been used as the Hammers’ cup goalkeeper this season.
In defence, Vladimir Coufal has enjoyed plenty of game time again this term and should keep his place in defence along with Kurt Zouma and Emerson. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the London club shake it up a bit at the back and bring in Konstantinos Mavropanos and axe Nayef Aguerd to freshen things up.
Same again in midfield for West Ham against Freiburg
Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez are likely to start in front of the back four, just like they did in West Ham’s 3-1 win away at Everton in their last league outing.
James Ward-Prowse, who moved to the London Stadium last summer following Southampton’s relegation to the Championship, then operates in a more advanced role and he will be eager to cause Freiburg some issues with his set pieces.
The Hammers then have the threat of Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus as they look to unlock the defence of their Bundesliga opponents.

In attack, Jarrod Bowen has been in fine form over recent times. The 27-year-old has scored 17 goals already in this campaign and is only one shy of his best scoring season for the club so far.
In other West Ham news, they wanted to sign Championship ace in January from Jarrod Bowen’s former club.
