David Moyes will be fuming at official West Ham United announcement
David Moyes will surely be fuming at an official announcement made by West Ham today that another fixture has been moved to a Thursday evening.
In a statement on the club’s official website on Tuesday (12 December), it was confirmed the home Premier League clash with Bournemouth has been shifted to 1 February.
As a result, the meeting with Manchester United, previously scheduled for the following Saturday (3 February), will now be moved to an as-yet-confirmed date.
News of this fixture change comes a couple of days on from Moyes questioning the decision to stage West Ham’s clash with Tottenham on a Thursday.
While West Ham came out on top 2-1 in that match, it meant Fulham had an extra 24 hours to prepare for Sunday’s (10 December) clash at Craven Cottage, which ended in a 5-0 loss.
“There were a wee bit of mitigating circumstances – I think the midweek took a huge amount out of us,” Moyes said, as per the Daily Mail [11 December].
“Playing Thursday and Sunday in two Premier League games, compared to [Fulham playing on] Wednesday and Sunday makes a big, big difference.”
West Ham are now accustomed to the Thursday-Sunday grind that comes with competing in the Europa League and Europa Conference League, but they could do with a helping hand from the Premier League.

Nothing Moyes said at the weekend would have prevented supporters from venting their frustrations after a terrible display, but he did have a point to an extent.
It goes without saying that the less time a team has to prepare for a game, the less prepared they will be. It also does not help when a sickness bug hits the camp.
Let’s just hope this latest Thursday-Sunday Premier League double-header does not result in another embarrassing scoreline in the second of the games.
In other West Ham news, Simon Jordan was flabbergasted by a “strange” development at London Stadium.
