West Ham United need to pay £30m to sign Scott McTominay as Manchester United price-tag news emerges
Unless there is a hugely dramatic turn of events at the London Stadium, West Ham will be bidding the fondest of farewells to skipper Declan Rice this summer.
Arsenal were said to be leading the race, though the Gunners were still short of a reported £100million price tag.
Manchester United are also reportedly back in contention, with the Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay among the players the Red Devils are willing to offer in exchange (The Telegraph, 21 June).

The latter option should be one of particular interest to Hammers boss David Moyes, who will have a significant void to fill in West Ham’s engine room when Rice’s sale eventually gets sanctioned.
Now, West Ham seemingly have an idea of how much it will cost to land McTominay if a swap deal with Erik ten Hag’s side cannot be agreed.
The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle United are also interested in the possibility of taking the Scotland international to St James’ Park as they look to add bodies ready for a Champions League campaign next season.
However, the report states the Magpies are unwilling to meet the £30m valuation placed on McTominay’s head.

Enter West Ham.
The Hammers are sure to have a warchest to play with once Rice is sold and reinvesting that money into a player who has experience of playing at the top end of the table would be ideal ahead of a new season that will see West Ham play in the Europa League after their Europa Conference League triumph.
McTominay is a player who often comes in for a bit of stick, but his energy and endeavour would be a perfect fit for Moyes, whose sides are known for being grafters.
There are other areas West Ham need to improve too, but as a starter for 10 a move for McTominay would make absolute sense for all parties.
