West Ham United must try to dodge double departure after emergence of Jarrod Bowen transfer news
A busy summer transfer window seems to wait in store for West Ham United fans, but not for the right reasons.
The Telegraph reported on Monday [17 April] that Newcastle are eyeing up moves for Hammers duo Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen at the end of the season as they prepare to throw caution to the wind and back manager Eddie Howe.
And although Rice is widely expected to have one foot out of the door already, with Arsenal reportedly in pole position for the midfielder’s signature, West Ham should try their hardest to close the door on any potential transfer away from the London Stadium for Bowen. [talkSPORT]

With the club drawing another step closer to Premier League survival thanks to their battling 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the weekend, they shouldn’t feel obliged to sell one of their most prized assets.
Money usually talks in the Premier League, and if Newcastle were to come in with an offer which considerably trumps the £18million the Hammers paid for Bowen’s services in January 2020, David Sullivan might be tempted to sell.
Despite a slow start to the season, Bowen has been West Ham’s standout player in recent weeks, and could be one of the main reasons David Moyes even remains in the job after a raft of sack pressure.
The 26-year-old netted his 11th goal of the season in the four-goal draw against the Gunners and terrorised Kieran Tierney all afternoon long.

The Bowen on display at the London Stadium on Sunday (16 April) was the Bowen that justifiably earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad last season.
If West Ham United want to return to the realms of European football next season and push themselves back into the top half of the Premier League, Bowen will be essential to this.
With Rice already set to leave the club this summer, Moyes and Sullivan must do all they can to lure off the advances of Newcastle and keep Bowen at the London Stadium next season.
