West Ham United must move quickly to sign Mohamed Bayo after recent development
West Ham United are in the process of rebuilding their squad despite having a successful campaign in the 2021/22 season at home and abroad.
One of the players they have been linked with was Clermont Foot’s young forward Mohamed Bayo, according to Foot Mercato.
David Moyes wants to bring competition for Michael Antonio this summer who struggled with fitness concerns in the previous campaigns.

However, according to French publication L’Équipe, German club Hertha Berlin are now also targeting the signing of the 24-year-old.
Bayo was one of the standout performers in the 2021-22 season, not just for Clermont Foot but in the league competition overall.
Clermont’s fanbase will have been extremely thankful of the 24-year-old as he was massively responsible for keeping the team in the French top-flight football for another season.
In the recently concluded Ligue 1 season, the Guinea international scored 14 league goals in 32 appearances, which is more than the likes of Lionel Messi and Mauro Icardi. He also provided five assists which shows that he can also make goals [Transfermarkt].

The forward played 71% of the Ligue 1 minutes and contributed to half of the goals scored by his club in the 2021-22 league season.
As West Ham will be playing in Europe again, they cannot go into four competitions with just one recognized striker.
Therefore, the addition of someone like Bayo, would be a key step in the right direction, but with interest from the likes of Hertha Berlin, it is time for the management to make a quick move to sign the player or else regret missing out on a solid striker.
