West Ham United must do everything to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka in January after Dharmesh Sheth update

West Ham should not look to let the opportunity pass by to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Dharmesh Sheth said on Sky Sports (14 December) that the Red Devils could be looking to sign a new right-back if they can find any potential buyer for Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka, 25, has struggled for game time this season under Erik Ten Hag and has managed just four minutes of Premier League action so far.

“He doesn’t seem to be in Ten Hag’s plans. He has played four minutes in all football competitions so far,” said Sheth on Sky Sports.

“If they can find suitors for Wan-Bissaka, then it’s likely they might go into the market for a right back.”

ExWHUemployee said (13 December) that the Hammers are likely to consider a move for the Englishman if he’s being made available on loan.

Sky Sports reported (14 December) that two unknown Premier League clubs are looking to sign Vladimir Coufal in January. There is also interest from Bayer Leverkusen as well.

If Coufal is allowed to move on, signing Wan-Bissaka won’t be a bad move for the club, even if it is on loan.

West Ham

Since joining Manchester United from Crystal Palace in 2019, the right-back has made over 125 appearances in all competitions.

He is solid defensively and very good on the tackle. In fact, he is probably one of the best in one v one situations.

His biggest drawback is that he offers very little going forward. Now, West Ham are not a side that rely heavily on full-backs unlike say Liverpool or Manchester City.

United are happy to get rid of him, and they would be willing to sanction a loan deal for the player.

Moyes is more than happy to have a player who is solid at the back, and therefore in theory Wan-Bissaka could be a smart addition to the side in January if they make a move.

Furthermore, it won’t hurt the club finance if he joins on a loan, possibly as a replacement for Coufal.
