West Ham United: Jarrod Bowen has chance to stake Euro 2024 claim amid double England blow

West Ham are being well represented in the current international break, with David Moyes certain to want all of his players back in one piece.

One of his star men in Jarrod Bowen doesn’t have very far at all to travel, however, after the winger was called up to the latest England squad.

Gareth Southgate’s men meet footballing heavyweights Brazil and Belgium this month, with both friendly clashes taking place at Wembley.

The matches serve as preparation for this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament, where England will meet Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in the group stages.

But first Southgate must navigate the upcoming friendly clashes, whereby he will be eager to finalise his Euro 2024 squad.

Will West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen get an England opportunity?

And keen to impress the man in the dugout will be Hammers star Bowen, who is unlikely to be guaranteed a spot in the final squad at this moment in time.

But the London Stadium star should be handed plenty of minutes in the friendly matches, with fellow attackers Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka set to miss out.

As reported by the Daily Mail on Thursday (21 March), Bayern Munich star Kane is a doubt for the Brazil match, while Arsenal ace Saka has pulled out of the squad altogether.

Bowen has played both wide right and centrally in East London this season – the positions of Saka and Kane respectively – and has shone in both areas.

He does, of course, still have plenty of competition within the Three Lions squad when it comes to minutes on the pitch, never mind a starting spot, but the latest double injury blow is certain to have boosted Bowen’s chances of being able to impress on the international stage.
