West Ham have been superb in Europe this season, with their adventures in the Europa Conference League keeping fans happy amid the Premier League struggles.
But the club’s top flight safety has been secured, meaning supporters and indeed the players can now focus solely on the Europa Conference League final.
The Hammers meet Italian outfit Fiorentina in Prague on Wednesday (7 June), and already have a foot up against their opponents as they only just finished their league campaign on Friday (2 June).
That will come as a major boost to David Moyes and West Ham, but the latest attacking statistics surrounding the Serie A side will send the Hammers crashing back down to earth.
West Ham’s defence haven’t exactly been at their best this season, but they will need to be on top form if they are to have any chance of coming out on top on Wednesday.
As per the official West Ham website, Fiorentina lead the way in this season’s Europa Conference League in various attacking areas, including the most worrying statistic of goals scored since the start of the group stages (36).
The Italians also sit top in terms of goal attempts (269), goal attempts on target (93) and even corners taken (106).
They have enjoyed a strong European journey, and it will take a mammoth performance from the East London outfit to stop them in their tracks.
The fierce attacking figures represent a major warning that the Hammers defence must take into account, even if it is just one huge clash that could go either way on the night.
