West Ham United dealt transfer blow as Harvey Barnes agrees deal with Newcastle United
West Ham United have been dealt a massive blow in their pursuit of Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, and must now look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
The Hammers should have no shortage of available funds this summer after the £105million sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, but spending that money wisely will be a difficult task this summer.
One player that could have been brought to the London Stadium with some of that money is Barnes, with the Hammers targeting the 25-year-old this summer, according to the Daily Mail (18 July).

But they are now on the receiving end of some bad news regarding the exciting attacker, who has completed a £38million move to Newcastle United, as per Sky Sports.
It is a high figure, but Barnes has proven time and again that he can cut it at the highest level, with the winger one of the few shining lights at Leicester last season as they were relegated to the Championship.
It’s a blow for the Hammers and manager David Moyes, who could have really done with the talents of Barnes as they look to fight on all fronts next season, an issue they struggled with last time out.

The Hammers have lost Manuel Lanzini following the expiry of his contract at the London Stadium, but fortunately still have the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma among their ranks.
However, with Premier League and now Europa League football to deal with, Moyes needs more faces in the door, and Barnes would have represented a superb addition.
In other West Ham news, the winner has been named in the £25million Hammers and Wolves race to seal a first-team signing this summer.
