West Ham United: David Moyes must sanction Jota deal now, Said Benrahma can exit
West Ham United manager David Moyes is rapidly running out of time if he wants to improve his squad this month.
The January transfer window deadline is closing in, and it is now becoming increasingly difficult to get deals over the line.
Fortunately the Hammers did their main business early on, with midfielder Kalvin Phillips arriving on loan from Manchester City.
That will certainly help the East London club continue to fight on all fronts this season, but perhaps a new attacker is also needed in order to bolster the final third options.
One player that is being targeted is Al Ittihad winger Jota, with talkSPORT’s Alex Crook reporting on X on Monday (29 January) that the club are now advancing with a deal for the 24-year-old.
His arrival would likely coincide with an attacking exit from the London Stadium, with fellow winger Said Benrahma likely to be that player.
The Algerian is wanted by two Premier League sides in former club Brentford [Alan Nixon, 28 January] and Everton [Graeme Bailey, 27 January].
The Hammers man has been underwhelming in recent times, and Moyes really should now sanction his exit in order to free up space and money for Jota.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a superb campaign at Celtic last time out to earn his big-money move to Saudi Arabia, with Jota registering 15 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. That form has not been recreated at Al Ittihad, but a move to the London Stadium could reignite his career.

The winger would arrive with plenty of big-game experience, not least from the Champions League, with Jota having netted against Real Madrid and RB Leipzig in last season’s tournament.
In other West Ham news, bids have been made for a South American Hammers player, with a last-gasp January exit on the cards.
