West Ham United could use fire sale to fund key January signings
David Moyes is in desperate need of transfer funds to bolster his West Ham United squad after a difficult start to the 2022-23 season.
The Irons are only marginally above the drop zone in the Premier League and while six wins from six in the Europa Conference League has been fantastic, more has to be done domestically.
Luckily for Moyes, there are eight senior Hammers who are set to see their contract expire at the end of the season, according to Transfer Markt, which could give him a list of players ready to create those funds.

Most notably, Manuel Lanzini and Conor Coventry are nearing the end of their current deals at the London Stadium and both could generate a healthy transfer fee should they be sold in January.
Vladimir Coufal is another who is attracting interest from abroad as his time in the capital nears completion with Bayer Leverkusen most likely to try and sign the Czech Republic international.
First-choice left-back Aaron Cresswell is another on the brink of a West Ham exit should no new deal be agreed while Craig Dawson, Angelo Ogbonna, Lukasz Fabianski and Darren Randolph join him on the list.
Those eight players could be a key feature of a large fire sale at the London Stadium which could then fund one or two vital additions to Moyes’ squad.

West Ham have been desperate for more attacking impetus this season with Gianluca Scamacca yet to hit the ground running, in truth, and Michail Antonio not carrying on last season’s form.
Jarrod Bowen is in a similar boat but another defender may also have to be on the radar with numbers low, especially at centre-half with Kurt Zouma on the sidelines at the moment.
It will be a critical month for Moyes and the football club but some of the deadwood has tobe shifted on while they have the chance.
