West Ham United can avenge Sonny Perkins departure by poaching Cody Drameh from Leeds United
West Ham were left disappointed by the departure of Sonny Perkins over the summer, but they can get their revenge through Cody Drameh.
The Hammers accused Leeds United of foul play over the summer after Perkins turned down a professional contract and requested to give up his scholarship in east London just days before he joined Leeds United.
It left a sour taste in West Ham mouths, with the club releasing a statement condemning the move: “The Club is disappointed with Perkins’ representatives and strongly believe he was approached to sign for another club.”

Perkins has since hit the ground running at Elland Road to rub salt in the wounds, but an opportunity has arisen for West Ham to get their own back.
As reported by Graeme Bailey, Leeds United’s contract talks with Cody Drameh have ground to a halt, with the Yorkshire side now resigned to losing him.
West Ham are mentioned among the interested parties alongside Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, two Championship clubs and a host of European clubs.
After the Hammers saw one of their promising academy players poached by Leeds, it’d be extremely satisfying for the club and fanbase to serve them a taste of their own medicine.

Drameh has a contract at Elland Road stretching to 2024, but the 20-year-old right-back has grown frustrated at his lack of playing time and is pushing for a move.
West Ham could certainly promise Drameh the playing time he desires. Vladimir Coufal has struggled on the right flank, as has Ben Johnson in recent weeks. With David Moyes desperately needing reinforcements at right-back it’s an opportunity too good to turn down.
Drameh’s arrival wouldn’t completely remove the pain from Perkins’ exit but it’d certainly soften the blow while simultaneously improving the depth and quality of the current squad.
