Rivalling Manchester United in the pursuit of a star midfielder, who made his mark on the world stage with some extremely impressive performances at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, leading his Morocco team to the semi-finals.

Taking on Champions League teams in their transfer business is not a one-off this summer for the Hammers. West Ham’s lofty sights in terms of their transfer targets is likely to manifest itself on the pitch, especially if they can get a few of these deals over the line. While they may have missed out on the likes of Barnes and Amrabat, the club continue to be linked to players who will improve their side.

With a reported £105million set to come into the club following the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, it will be no surprise to see the Hammers targeting further big names as they are prepared to splash the cash to make sure Rice’s departure isn’t too much of a heavy blow to the club.

The East London club have been criticised by fans in the past for not showing enough ambition, particularly when it comes to transfers, but links so far this summer will go a long way to putting those doubts to bed.

Following their Europa Conference League success last year, West Ham fans will have caught the bug and will want further success. If they can bring some big players to the club this summer, the owners may well be able to deliver those trophies.

This could be an exciting transfer window for the Hammers, and fans will hope reported interest can turn into on-field success.
