West Ham to have close look at reported target Paul Onuachu

West Ham play Genk on Thursday in the Europa League, which is exciting for two reasons.

One, because they could make it three wins from three and pretty much seal a spot in the next round, and two because they finally get to have a close look at Paul Onuachu.

The giant Nigerian striker was linked with a move to the London Stadium in the last transfer window by All Nigeria Soccer, and this is David Moyes’ chance to see what he can do in the flesh.

Last season, the 27-year-old scored 35 goals in all competitions, which is a very good goalscoring record.

So far this season, the 15-cap Nigeria international has scored 11 goals in just 15 games, including one in the Europa League.

The striker has been described as “very talented” by Kenneth Omeruo, and you would think he could be a great addition to the Premier League and to the Irons [Omasports].

Certainly, we doubt that the physicality of the league would be any problem for Onuachu, and we can’t wait to see how he does up against whichever centre-back pairing Moyes picks.

Now, you would think if he could hold his own, that could help his chances of moving to the London Stadium in January.

It is no secret that the Irons need another forward to either help or replace Michail Antonio in some games, and this could be Onuachu’s chance to prove he would be a good player for the Hammers.

He has to see this as an audition and try and impress Moyes and get a move to east London.
