West Ham to fancy chances for crucial win vs Fulham amid Harry Wilson update

West Ham simply need to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Fulham on Wednesday.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men will head to Craven Cottage, a place where Fulham have enjoyed much success this season.

The Irons understand the importance of three points in this clash, which shapes up to be one of the more winnable games of the season.

West Ham still face fears of relegation, but they could pick up an important victory over the Cottagers, especially if their key man, Harry Wilson, is absent.

Marco Silva confirms Harry Wilson doubt, West Ham to pounce

One of the main criticisms of West Ham under Nuno has been the defence, with holes seen yet again in the 5-2 loss to Liverpool last time out in the league.

But the opposition and quality of personnel clearly matter, and a Fulham side without Wilson in it isn’t a strong one.

After Fulham’s win over Spurs, head coach Marco Silva confirmed the Cottagers’ worry with Wilson, who could now be absent against West Ham.

Silva said, as quoted by Jack Kelly on X: “He twisted the ankle, let’s see how he’s going to be in the next few days.”

The Fulham boss also confirmed that the winger complained about the issue at halftime before his withdrawal in the 72nd minute, which could all come together as a huge boost for the Hammers.

West Ham have scored nine goals in their last five away matches in all competitions, proving that attack isn’t a problem.

Wilson’s potential absence could be the difference for the Irons in this one.

West Ham are close to a scoring rampage; stats prove why

The Hammers have picked up some nice victories in the past couple of weeks, with away wins over Burnley and Tottenham, and other impressive displays.

But, though some results have been disappointing on paper, the underlying data suggests that West Ham are close to hammering a side, and it could be Fulham.

The Irons have been consistently creating goal-scoring chances as well as converting in front of the goal, and all it may take is one game for everything to come together.

Taty Castellanos is now firing, as Nuno has other players who can also add goals from different areas. If Wilson misses this clash, the Hammers could flatten Fulham.
