West Ham surely have no chance in Conor Gallagher pursuit as leaders named in race for Chelsea ace
The future of Conor Gallagher is pretty clear as it stands but one thing seemingly has a bit more clarity and that is the fact West Ham are surely not in the race.
It was reported by talkSPORT (21 December) that the Hammers had a bid reject for the England international in the summer.
However, despite being a regular under Mauricio Pochettino, Gallagher is seemingly available for transfer in January as Chelsea look to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

As Gallagher is a product of the youth academy, his sale could be listed as 100 per cent profit and owner Todd Boehly might make the decision himself.
However, the Athletic reported on Wednesday (27 December) that, while the Hammers are among the clubs interested they are not the most keen.
Indeed, the Athletic wrote that several clubs are likely to baulk at the £40million prices – with West Ham likely to be on that list.
Therefore, it is Tottenham – they say – who are keeping the closest eye on the situation of Gallagher, while TEAMTALK (28 December) corroborated that Spurs are front of the queue for his signature.

But of all the areas where David Moyes would want to strengthen, central midfield is probably not among them given they have the likes of Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek.
He would fit the bill in terms of adding quality British talent to meet the quota on home-grown players in the squad, but other areas are probably in need of more urgent attention.
It all points to one answer, which is that West Ham surely have no change of landing Gallagher in January. It’s time to move on to other targets.
In other West Ham news, BBC Sport pundits have been clear with what should happen next with David Moyes.
