West Ham signing Joakim Maehle for £13 million would be brilliant business
West Ham are interested in signing Atalanta right-back Joakim Maehle, according to the Italian publication Corriere della Sera’s print edition on July 6.
The Hammers are in the market to sign full-backs in order to bolster their defensive unit ahead of the next campaign.
For this purpose, the Irons have been linked with the Denmark international and as per the latest report, the London-based club are willing to offer £13million to sign the player in the ongoing transfer window.

It is believed that the Italian club are open to selling the player, who has three years left on his current deal, if a sizeable offer arrives.
Ben Johnson had a fantastic start to life in his senior career with a breakthrough season at West Ham. His great performances against the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool earned him a lot of fan following at the London Stadium.
However, even though West Ham fans would like to see the youngster continue his progression at the club, he needs competition.
With the signing of Maehle, there is no doubt that he will excel and the team will benefit from it.

As West Ham are playing in another European competition next season after making it to their first-ever Europa League semi-finals, they have to make sure that they have competition in every position.
Fullback is one of the most important positions in football nowadays and it is definitely one of those positions that cause the most injuries throughout the season as well.
Therefore, it is important that the Hammers find competition for Johnson next season and Maehle could be that profile.
