West Ham should put their cards on the table for Giovanni Simeone

West Ham have been linked with a move for Cagliari striker Giovanni Simeone during this summer transfer window by Calciomercato and after the latest info from the Serie A club’s president, they should be all over this deal.

Tommaso Giulini confirmed that he has received “no offer” for the 26-year-old forward, and the Hammers should be ready to jump the queue and make a move for Simeone [calciocasteddu].

The Argentinian is the son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego and has received five caps from his country as well as playing in 179 Serie A games for various clubs.

Simeone has a decent goalscoring record and is valued at £9.9m by transfermarkt, which seems like a reasonable valuation for him.

With the increased workload this season for West Ham, they need another striker as the only forward they currently have is Michail Antonio, who does score goals but missed a lot of matches last season.

Therefore, Simeone could be the ideal option to fill in for Antonio or surpass the 31-year-old as David Moyes’ first-choice striker.

Considering he is is just 26, Simeone is still a couple of years short of his peak, and given his experience in Italy, he could be the ideal option for Moyes and West Ham.

West Ham

Outside of the Boot described him as both “brilliant” and “excellent” back in 2017.

So, there are plenty of people out there who rate Simeone, and he could be an excellent addition to Moyes’ squad.

The fact no club has made an offer for him yet should encourage the Hammers to jump the gun and make the first move and bring him in now before other clubs decide that they want the Cagliari forward.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a big request regarding the London Stadium.
