West Ham have been pursuing a new goalkeeper all summer.

After Lukasz Fabianski left West Ham, Graham Potter has been short on options in the next.

The Botafogo goalkeeper has impressed and, most recently, took part in the Club World Cup.

However, West Ham may have to move on to Mads Hermansen if they want a new keeper this summer.

John Victor to West Ham is off

Despite all the talk surrounding Victor and West Ham, the deal now appears to be off.

According to Pete O'Rourke via X on 7 August, the proposed move has now collapsed, with Potter still in need of a new keeper.

As a result, West Ham cannot afford to wait around and must go all in for Hermansen.

Alphonse Areola has continued to be unreliable in pre-season and cannot be the Hammers’ number one going into the new campaign.

Therefore, the London club simply cannot afford to wait any longer and must quickly confirm a deal to sign the Leicester City man.

Despite the Foxes’ relegation last season, Hermansen proved himself to be a valuable asset and capable of playing in the top flight.

Hopefully, a deal will be quickly struck, ready for the first Premier League game of the season against Sunderland.

How good is Hermansen?

Given that Hermansen was part of a team that was relegated without a fight, many fans can be forgiven for not rating the goalkeeper.

However, stats show that the 25-year-old still managed to have a decent individual campaign.

Mads Hermansen stats last season
Appearances 27
Goals conceded58
Clean sheets 1
Save percentage 64%
Goals prevented -0.55
Hermansen could not stop Leicester from being relegated

If not, it will be a catastrophic failure ahead of the new season.
