West Ham should appoint Mark Noble as an academy coach, not 1st team
With West Ham legend Mark Noble bringing his long playing career to a close at the end of this season, attentions have turned to what he might do next.
A couple of roles have been suggested with The Athletic highlighting a first-team coaching role or an executive position as potential destinations for the 34-year-old from next season. The Daily Mail say talks are underway over an executive role.
But in that The Athletic article, they also bring up a third option and that is exactly what he would be best at, given the opportunity.

“A coaching role with the academy has Noble’s name written all over it,” writes Roshane Thomas and he is 100% bang on.
His enormous wealth of experience would be invaluable to the next generation of West Ham stars and they would surely thrive on being able to learn from such a figure at the club.
He will still be in good shape to get involved in training sessions too, barring a wild summer, where he can get right in among the kids to teach them everything in his armoury.
The first team could benefit from this as well, there is no doubting that, but they should have all absorbed as much as they could from Noble while he has been a player there.

Now must be the time when Noble drops to the academy and helps those on the way to the Premier League.
It could be a great stepping stone for him too with a view to becoming a coach with the senior squad and maybe even the club’s manager someway down the line.
Whatever David Moyes and the Irons’ board decide is best for Noble, he has to be kept very close to the players to unload his knowledge upon each and every one of them.
Seeing him become an executive would be a crying shame for all Hammers fans who hold a special place in their heart for “Mr West Ham”.
In other West Ham news, this Irons star has shared where he wants to play in the future in a revealing interview.
