West Ham receive major boost in pursuit of Gianluca Scamacca
West Ham United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca in the ongoing transfer window.
The Hammers have been in the market to sign an attacking player to strengthen the squad ahead of the next campaign.
One of the players they were linked with is Scamacca but he was attracting interest from a number of other clubs, including reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
However, as per journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Irons have received a major boost with the Ligue 1 giants unwilling to meet the Italian club’s valuation of the player.
Complete Package
West Ham are coming off a successful campaign and signing someone like Scamacca might well prove to be a great addition, both on the pitch as well as inside the dressing room.
He is not just going to be a player that will play the game the way it is supposed to be played, he will demand the same from others.
In terms of on-field involvement, the 23-year-old will bring a much-needed depth to the squad which is essential for a team that is in Europe.

In the 2021-22 Serie A season, Scamacca scored 16 goals and provided an assist in 38 matches across all competitions [Transfermarkt].
That’s not it as he averaged 0.7 key passes, 0.6 dribbles, 0.5 tackles, and 0.2 interceptions per game in the league [Whoscored].
Those numbers are good enough to show that Scamacca will bring a lot of quality, both with and without the ball.
