West Ham need to act on goal machine Artur Cabral after Fabrizio Romano Tweet

West Ham United are in danger of missing out on another signing at striker as Fiorentina have lodged their initial bid for FC Basel forward Arthur Cabral.

The Hammers were initially linked with the Brazilian by TEAMtalk but they have failed to make a suitable offer to the Swiss outfit this month.

Now they are being overtaken in the race as Fabrizio Romano [25 January[ reported that Fiorentina have submitted a bid and are waiting for Basel’s response.

The Violets are keen to sort out a new striker with their current number nine, Dusan Vlahovic, being touted for a move away and a number of Europe’s top clubs after the Serbian.

Can’t wait forever

David Moyes is well known to be as patient as a football manager can be, but that can be to his detriment in the transfer market.

If he waits too long to give the go-ahead to the board on Cabral, he won’t be available anymore and he isn’t the kind of player you want to miss out on.

West Ham United

He is the current top scorer in the Swiss Super League with 14 goals to his name which has helped Basel to second in the division.

West Ham have needed another striking option ever since they sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax 12 months ago with Michail Antonio having taken the brunt of the pressure for goals.

Up to now, he has delivered on that but at 31 years of age, he could never be too far away from an injury and that would leave the Irons in quite the predicament at this moment in time.

Cabral would be a fantastic alternative option to Antonio and the club can’t afford to wait too much longer before making their move.

In other West Ham news, another Premier League club are reluctant to let this player join the Hammers on loan this week.
