West Ham must take advantage of daunting Nottingham Forest reveal immediately

West Ham are looking to climb out of the relegation zone as they face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening.

The Hammers sit 18th in the Premier League, just two points behind Nottingham Forest ahead of them.

Both sides have stumbled recently, with neither West Ham nor Forest able to take advantage of the relative struggles of the other.

Vitor Pereira’s Forest travel to Manchester City on the same evening, having lost their last two against Liverpool and Brighton.

With a dismal record at the Etihad, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side simply must take advantage.

Daunting Nottingham Forest stat revealed – West Ham must take advantage

The Garibaldi were promoted to the Premier League in 2022 and have spent three of their four years fighting at the bottom end of the standings.

During this period, they have picked up just one win against Manchester City, when Callum Hudson-Odoi’s late winner kept Nuno’s side on track for Europe last term.

Though their record at the Etihad is the most concerning, with Forest losing all three clashes against Pep Guardiola’s side by a combined scoreline of 11-0.

Naturally, a trip to the Etihad is taxing for any side in the division, but it has to be acknowledged that it does not look good for Forest ahead of Wednesday’s encounter.

With West Ham facing Fulham – a much more favourable fixture – the Hammers must take advantage.

The simple fact of the matter is that there will not be a much better opportunity this season when it comes to the opposition that their rivals are facing.

West Ham are in need of results, fast

West Ham have sleepwalked towards the lower echelons of the Premier League for multiple years now.

Money has been spent and wasted at the London Stadium, with the club entering each campaign without a specific direction, while the lack of forward thinking has seen the Hammers dip year in and year out.

Now, Nuno’s side finds themselves sitting in the relegation zone, while the number of matches left continues to dwindle.

Form has improved since the turn of the year, though a run of difficult fixtures has seen a lack of points put on the board in recent weeks.

Ahead of their FA Cup clash with Brentford, the Hammers simply must kickstart some league form with a win against Fulham – something that would likely lift them above Nottingham Forest given their dismal record at the Etihad.
