West Ham must act quick to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja after interest from rivals

West Ham have been joined by the likes of Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion in the chase of young Chelsea forward Armando Broja, according to the Daily Mail.

The Albania international’s future has been a talking point after having an impressive loan spell with Southampton in the recently concluded campaign.

It is believed that manager David Moyes is eager to bolster his side’s attacking options ahead of the new season and Broja seems to fit the bill, completely.

However, the Hammers must make a move for the player who has a contract with Chelsea until 2026 and has only made one appearance for the two-time European champions as losing him to another Premier League club will be a devastating blow.

Building Momentum at West Ham

Broja was one of the standout players for Ralph Hassenhutl’s Southampton in the recently concluded Premier League season, scoring six goals and providing one assist across 32 appearances. He scored nine goals across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

Considering the reputation Moyes has in terms of bringing up the Premier League talent, he wouldn’t hesitate in working with the Albanian forward.

If you look at the players the former Manchester United manager has promoted all the way back to the teenage days of Wayne Rooney, you can expect a similar kind of growth from Broja.

The Hammers already have problems in attack with Michael Antonio, despite still being a threat, becoming injury-prone. He would need a reliable partner alongside him to get pressure off his shoulders.

Despite having a fantastic season, especially in Europe, Moyes would know that he would require strikers who can win him games single-handedly. Broja can be that type of striker if he is given trust by the manager.

In other West Ham news, this 16-year-old defender has already scored for the Under-18s but he’s now put pen to paper on a scholarship with the Hammers.
