West Ham handed huge boost in quest to sign Anthony Martial
West Ham were in the hunt to sign a striker this summer and had identified Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as an option, per The Daily Star.
However, they weren’t keen on making him their highest earner so did not pursue his services any further.
That said, a recent Eurosport report suggests that the Manchester-based club have given the 25-year-old’s representatives the green light to seal a move away from the club and are looking for a £40million transfer fee.

It’s also understood that the Frenchman is open to staying in the Premier League, which is a good thing for West Ham as they could offer him a regular starting role and help him get his career back on track.
At Manchester United, no manager quite understood what his best position was and failed to get the best out of him.
There were glimpses of the player they signed in his early days, especially when he scored a goal in the win over Liverpool, but those eye-catching moments have been few and far between.

£40million is the price they’re reportedly quoting, but that’s how negotiations start and we believe that the club could sign him if they really want to for a fee in the region of £30million.
The France international is still only 25-years-old so he has the rest of his career ahead of him and could prove to be a valuable investment as he will play without the added scrutiny at the London Stadium.
That could certainly help him become a clinical goalscorer, much like he was during his AS Monaco days.
