West Ham get big boost in signing Arthur Theate after his latest admission

Arthur Theate has admitted he likes England and West Ham United amid a potential move to the Premier League, according to Gazzetta.

After this season’s centre-back crisis highlighted the need to strengthen that area of the squad – David Moyes is on the hunt to bolster his defensive options in the summer.

The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the London Stadium and they will be increasingly confident they can get him for the £8million fee placed on his head after his recent admission.

West Ham

The youngster has been sensational for Bologna this season, establishing himself as a key member of the team.

Signing a left-footed centre-back to fill the left side of the centre of defence is key for the Hammers ahead of next season.

Make no mistake, Kurt Zouma has been great there but the team would be much better off having two central defenders both playing on their strongest side.

Unbelievable.

The latest reports say that Theate could be on his way out of Bologna due to Sinisa Mihaljovic changing the formation.

West Ham

The Serie A outfit played a back three last campaign but with them set to switch to a back four – there is no room for the 22-year-old in the team.

To lose a player of his quality and potential for that reason is an absolute farce and if that does end up being the case – West Ham must pounce.

The former Genk youth is a very good player and for £8million, bringing him in in the summer would be an absolute steal.

There is of course some risk surrounding the move with how young he is as well as his lack of experience but this looks to be a deal that the Hammers might regret if he is signed by somebody else and becomes a future star.
