West Ham fans will love what Declan Rice posted on Instagram straight after Arsenal win in Champions League

Declan Rice has reflected on West Ham’s Europa Conference League victory after Arsenal’s recent 3-0 win over Slavia Prague.

The former West Ham captain started the match on Tuesday and picked up an assist in the routine victory.

Despite moving to Arsenal in 2023, Rice has continued to associate himself with West Ham and many of his former teammates.

Now, with the midfielder playing at the stadium which saw the Hammers lift the Europa Conference League, the England international has taken to Instagram on 4 November to reflect on the night.

Declan Rice: Fortuna Arena has the best memories

While West Ham may be going through a tough time at the moment, one of their best nights came only two years ago.

Under the stewardship of David Moyes, West Ham managed to overcome Fiorentina 2-1 at Slavia Prague’s Fortuna Arena, with Jarrod Bowen getting a late winner.

Rice was the Hammers captain that night, in what proved to be his final competitive game for East London club.

After finding himself back at the ground where it all went down on Tuesday, the midfielder posted a message on his Instagram story that West Ham fans will love.

He said: “This exact end and stadium. The best memories here. Forever grateful.”

Given the lack of good memories at the London Stadium right now, the Hammers faithful will no doubt be grateful for Rice’s post.

The midfielder has been a controversial figure in recent years, but his post will be looked at fondly by West Ham fans.

Hopefully, similar memories can be recreated in the future as the East London club looks to escape the relegation zone.

Where is West Ham’s Europa Conference winning side now?

Despite being just two years ago, few of West Ham’s starting XI from the final remain at the East London club.

As it stands, only four players are still at the Hammers, with Bowen no doubt being the biggest.

Stars such as Nayef Aguerd were sold to Marseille in the summer, joining fellow finalist Emerson Palmieri, while Michail Antonio was released by West Ham and remains without a club.

Scorer Said Benrahma is in Saudi Arabia playing for Neom, while Kurt Zouma is in Romania at CFR Cluj, and Vladimir Coufal moved to Hoffenheim in 2025.
