West Ham are ready to compete with Europe’s elite in race to sign Armando Broja

West Ham United are now at a level where they can realistically compete with some of Europe’s top clubs for transfers and that might happen very soon.

Chelsea striker Armando Broja is a summer target for the Hammers [Evening Standard] having impressed on loan at Southampton this season with six Premier League goals to his name.

Now though there are two big European giants who have entered the race for the Albanian as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund keep tabs, according to The Sun.

West Ham

Just two years ago, it would be unfathomable to think that West Ham could compete with the likes of Bayern and Dortmund for a transfer but it’s not so alien now.

The past two seasons ahs seen David Moyes take mid-table obscurity and turn it into genuine European challengers and they have as good a chance as anyone in the race for Champions League football this season.

They are equals with Dortmund now with the German side being knocked out of the Champions League, dropping into the Europa League along with the Hammers.

Bayern might be a different kettle of fish but they are still not out of reach given the money in the Premier League far supersedes that of the Bundesliga.

West Ham

Broja would be a fantastic addition at the London Stadium, offering very good competition and, more importantly, cover for Michail Antonio in attack.

The 31-year-old Jamaican has been doing it all himself for the most part and Moyes cannot lean on him too much without breaking him.

Whether the Hammers can really take on Bayern and Dortmund and succeed will remain unknown until the summer but that fact you can talk about it without it sounded ridiculous proves just how far the club has come and it won’t stop anytime soon.

In other West Ham news, we think the Irons should utilise this lethal tactic more often after it worked to perfection against Leicester.
