View: West Ham should be furious after Markus Krösche’s comments

West Ham fans will have to be careful next Thursday [April 28] after Markus Krösche’s careless comments to the Eintracht Frankfurt fans.

The Hammers have been brilliant in ensuring the German supporters do not run riot in the London Stadium during the first leg of their Europa League semi-final doubleheader.

Extra security measures have been put in place after the travelling Frankfurt fans took over the Camp Nou home end to watch their team knockout Barcelona in the last round.

Despite the two sides clashing in Seville as both teams played their round of 16 first leg tie in the city as well as there being no more tickets available for the game the Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director brainlessly encouraged fans to attend.

“The English want to be tough there,” said Krösche as per Hessenschau.

“I hope that there are still more in the city. This feeling does something to us.”

Stupid

Understandably Krösche wants to try and give his team the edge through any method possible but he really needs to read the room.

It isn’t normal or fair for the away team to swamp the home section and with the Hammers being targeted by the Bundesliga side’s fans once already this season, this is a really stupid thing to say.

Thankfully the tickets sold out so quick which will make it very hard for the Germans to sneak into the home end but having thousands of ticketless fans in London – most likely looking to cause trouble – would be a nightmare.

The English police aren’t as in control as the Spanish forces who fired rubber bullets at the crowd of trouble which could be really dangerous for the Irons who simply just want to go and watch the game.

Hopefully, those who do travel to the capital do it peacefully and a hugely historic game for the Irons isn’t overshadowed by bad behaviour from the fans.

In other West Ham news, View: The Irons fans are surely relieved after the club share a “confident” stance on the German fans.
