View: West Ham send Lyon into riot as insane stadium footage released

RMC has released insane footage of the Lyon fans rioting after their defeat to West Ham in the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday [April 14].

David Moyes’ side eased past the Ligue 1 side 3-0 [4-1 on aggregate] to advance to the semi-final where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt.

Thankfully the Irons fans were safely tucked away in the gods of the Groupama Stadium which allowed them to stay clear of the “chaotic” scenes.

The tweet said: “The discontent of Lyon supporters after the debacle against West Ham (0-3).

“No more barrier, no more net. Chaotic.”

Madness.

The Hammers really have rattled Lyon, haven’t they?

The crunch tie brought a host of controversial talking points as Declan Rice sent shots at the French sides Twitter admin, West Ham themselves mocked Moussa Dembele after his embarrassing first leg antics and now footage has been shared showing the unbelievable scenes at full time.

West Ham

European ultras are renowned for their violent behaviour which makes the decision not to have some sort of barrier blocking them from the pitch very strange.

Maybe the security shared the same arrogant view as the French media and thought that Lyon would breeze past the Irons meaning there would be no trouble – how wrong could they be?

The semi-final is set to be just as fiery against the Germans. When the two sides shared Seville for their respective round of 16 first-leg ties, videos went viral as they clashed.

Hopefully, the Hammers throw their punches on the pitch rather than off it and advance into the final because the last thing they need is any trouble overshadowing their brilliant European run.
