View: West Ham must make another move for Leeds star Raphinha

West Ham must try everything to sign Leeds United winger, Raphinha, before the end of the January transfer window.

Moyes supposedly has the financial backing of the owners and there is no better way to prove that then making a statement signing.

The Hammers are interested in the Brazilian maestro as reported by the Daily Mail and rightly so with the midfielder notching ten goals in all competitions this season.

However, Leeds United are said to have rejected a bid from West Ham for their star performer this season.

No club is going to let their best player leave at the first time of asking therefore David Sullivan and co must reinstate their interest with a higher bid.

Moyes has stressed the importance of bringing in more quality players, especially in attack, as the Irons push for Champions League football.

For years the Irons star players have been relentlessly pursued by teams until an agreement has been made, it’s now their turn to do some relentless pursuing of their own, starting with Raphinha.

Champions League or Championship?

With where the two clubs currently find themselves Raphinha would much rather be in east London than west Yorkshire.

West Ham

The Whites are fighting off relegation and they find themselves in a proper dog fight.

They are dangerously close to the drop zone after suffering defeat to 18thplace Newcastle; with the teams around them, all showing they have what it takes to stay in the league in recent weeks.

Whereas those in claret and blue are enjoying the prospect of playing the likes of Barcelona in the Europa League as well as pushing for Champions League football and signings like Raphinha would certainly make the difference.

He is doing his best to rescue a sinking ship at Elland Road, but he could thrive at West Ham.

They had an impressive first season in the topflight but the gulf in quality between both squads is clear to see from the league table and the 25-year-old coming to the London Stadium would only make that gap bigger.

The club are in the best shape they have been in a long time and if the Hammers can’t attract superstars now, when will they be able to?
