View: West Ham ace trumps European elite duo in mind-blowing statistic
Richard Jolly has shared an insane statistic that puts West Ham defender Craig Dawson above Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Hammers ace scored the all-important opener at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday night [April 14] that saw his side run away as 3-0 winners [4-1 on aggregate].
David Moyes’ side can now look forward to a Europa League semi-final clash against Eintracht Frankfurt and they will be hoping for some more Dawson magic to help get them to the final.
Jolly shared on Twitter: “Craig Dawson has more goals in the quarter-finals of European competitions in the 2020s than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have between them.”

If you had told Irons fans that the centre-back would trump two of the football’s greatest ever players, in terms of European quarter-final goals scored when he joined the club, they would have laughed in your face.
The Englishman was signed very much as a backup option for Moyes and thank god he was brought to the club because his contribution has been invaluable this season.
Major injuries to Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna this term have seen the former West Brom ace called upon far more often than he would have thought when coming to the London Stadium.
He boasts 37 appearances in the Premier League and Europa League alone whilst having a hand in 6 goals across both competitions with several of those being hugely important – firmly establishing himself as this season’s surprise package.
The 31-year-old has been absolutely brilliant for the Hammers, exceeding everyone’s expectations and long may it continue.
