View: West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen faces terrible luck with England squad

The England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast has been released and West Ham star man Jarrod Bowen has not been selected.

The winger would surely have been nailed on to be included in the squad with his form this season simply too good not to pick him but the injury the 25-year-old suffered against Liverpool is most likely the reason he wasn’t selected.

Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were not selected which indicates the Hammers man may have been backed by Gareth Southgate.

It would have been brilliant for the former Hull City man to have found his feet in the Three Lions set up sooner rather than later, but it wasn’t meant to be, and he will be gutted with the rotten luck keeping him out of the Irons biggest games of the season as well.

Bowen has outperformed every last English attacker this season therefore he should be included in the next England squad as he eyes a shock inclusion for the 2022 World Cup squad.

Tough luck

This is a huge shame for this season’s star performer. The forward has worked incredibly hard this season and has definitely earned the call-up and he will be fuming he is injured.

The Irons have seen Declan Rice make waves on the international stage and Bowen was about to make his first steps into replicating his Hammers teammates’ success.

It will be devastating for the fans as well. It almost felt as if West Ham were in the final of the European Championship when Rice was representing the famous claret & blue on one of the biggest stages in world football so can you imagine the hysteria if they had several players involved?

Bowen’s form this season could easily see him starting as well with the other English forwards not fit to lace his boots this season.

His England debut will come soon, there is no doubt at all about that. Let’s just hope his absence doesn’t have too much of an impact on the Irons’ season as they approach the business end of the season without their star man.
