View: David Moyes must create West Ham United gameplan that exposes major Liverpool flaw

West Ham face a difficult trip to Liverpool on Wednesday evening, and David Moyes should take a glance at one outstanding stat before setting up his team.

After a poor start to the season, West Ham are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches but face a huge test against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side this week.

However, Liverpool have looked vulnerable this season and a win for the Hammers would see them leapfrog the Reds in the standings.

West Ham

Moyes will currently be busy drawing up a gameplan for his side, and he should consider Liverpool’s recent defensive fragility in his plans.

As reported by OneFootball, Liverpool have conceded first in 10 of their last 13 games, including going a goal down within a minute against Arsenal last week.

Don’t hold back

On paper, Moyes may look at Liverpool and want to instruct his team to sit back and defend against last year’s Champions League finalists.

However, the numbers don’t lie – Liverpool are there to be attacked and they’ve already conceded 12 goals this season, one more than West Ham.

West Ham

West Ham’s strengths this season lie in their attacking threat, with Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca in particular adding plenty of firepower to the side.

They didn’t arrive at London Stadium in the summer to be used as defenders, so Moyes needs to unleash them and let them trouble Liverpool’s back line.

Of course, the team will have to defend as a unit out of possession, but bravery and risk is required going forward if the Hammers are to maintain their unbeaten run.

The Reds will be buoyed by their recent 1-0 victory over Machester City, but West Ham have plenty to be confident about themselves. If Moyes gets it right on Wednesday, we could be in for a blockbuster event.
