Time running out for David Moyes to turn West Ham season around already

West Ham came into this season hoping to better what they achieved in the last season where they finished in seventh spot in the Premier League.

However, the Hammers had a horrid start to their campaign as they suffered their third defeat in as many matches on Sunday against Brighton & Hove Albion.

That result left the Irons languishing at the bottom of the table with zero points [Premier League].

Time running out

West Ham’s poor form in the early part of the season could’ve been down to many reasons but most of them leads to manager David Moyes.

The Hammers are currently having the worst start to the Premier League campaign under the former Manchester United manager who arrived at the club back in December 2019.

Not only the results that have not gone their way but it is the performance in each of these three matches which must’ve left the fans worried about what the future will be for the club in the ongoing season.

The players looked lacklustre, slow and easily the second-best, even against teams who are not exactly world beaters in Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

West Ham

After three rounds of matches, West Ham players averaged second-lowest tackles per match (12.7), conceded nearly 13 shots per game, are the only team to have zero shots from inside the six yards and have not managed to produce a solitary counterattack or a through ball and are basically relying on long balls where the players provided 60 long balls [Whoscored].

Those numbers show that something is not right and with pressure slowly mounting, it is probably time that Moyes will turn to his basics and make things better on the training pitch.
