Signing Jesse Lingard must not decide Said Benrahma future with West Ham
In a surprising turn of events, West Ham are willing to let Said Benrahma leave during the summer transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.
The 26-year-old joined the London club in 2021 from Brentford in a deal worth £20.79 million.
In the same report, it was claimed that the Hammers will only let him leave should they receive a substantial offer.

The primary reason given was the possible arrival of Jesse Lingard as a free agent from Manchester United.
Another reason was that manager David Moyes is keen on freshening up the squad ahead of the next campaign.

A mistake
Looking at how Benrahma has performed for West Ham ever since joining the club, ditching him for any player, even if that player is Lingard, does not make much sense.
The Algeria international has played 81 matches for the club across all competitions where he scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists.
In the last campaign, he was pretty prolific in front of the goal, scoring 11 times and providing six assists in 48 matches across all competitions. Eight of those goals came in the Premier League including a goal each against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Those numbers are a testament to how good a player Benrahma is and with Andriy Yarmolenko already leaving the club as a free agent, West Ham fans will be hoping that manager David Moyes and the top-tier management will do all they can to ensure that the winger will continue representing the London-based club.
