Ruben Amorim refuses to tell media key Man United info that could benefit West Ham

Ruben Amorim was not prepared to give West Ham United any sort of advantage when speaking at Manchester United’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

West Ham travel to Old Trafford on Thursday night with the hope of bouncing back from their weekend defeat to Liverpool at the London Stadium.

Lucas Paqueta’s stupid sending off was the big talking point from that match, with the Brazil international now suspended for one match.

Nuno Espirito Santo could make a couple of West Ham changes for the midweek clash, with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion to follow on Sunday.

Whereas Nuno was more than willing to provide a team news update at his own press conference, however, Amorim took a different approach.

Ruben Amorim shares cryptic Man United injury update

Nuno told reporters on Tuesday that Crysencio Summerville is likely to miss the game against Man United, as he recovers from a knock that has ruled him out of the last two games.

Ollie Scarles is another who is definitely out as he recovers from a broken collarbone. Scarles is not expected to return for West Ham until 2026.

Amorim was less forthcoming with key injury news at his own presser 24 hours later, instead just stating that there are “two doubts for the game”.

The Portuguese then refused to name those two injury doubts as “it will change the way we are going to approach” the game.

Who are Man United’s injury doubts vs West Ham

Amorim confirmed Matheus Cunha is back in contention for the hosts after recovering from injury.

Harry Maguire and Benjamin Sesko have been absent for recent games and are not expected to feature against West Ham.

Beyond those three players, it is unknown who Amorim is referring to. Given it could alter the way United play, though, this can only be a positive for West Ham.

As for the Irons, George Earthy is the only other fitness doubt beyond the aforementioned Summerville and the definitely-ruled-out Scarles and Paqueta.
